Introducing Rasa Vinyasa - with Marly Cardozo
Mondays, 12:30-1:45pm


Rasa Vinyasa is a balanced practice that cultivates more clarity in the mind and openness in the heart.  Rasa Vinyasa classes weave alignment principles together with challenging yet contemplative flowing sequences, longer-held postures, breathing practices, meditation, and chanting.  In order to build strength and fluidity in all areas of the body, Rasa Vinyasa explores a wide variety of postures that are specifically sequenced to build on anatomical themes.  Care is given to accommodate students’ differing levels of expertise by offering clear, detailed instruction, hands-on adjustments, and multiple pose variations. With emphasis on following the thread of awareness through posture, breath, thought, and technique, students become mindful of their deep-held physical and emotional patterns of conditioning, enabling them to attain their innate sense of freedom.

About the instructor: Marly has been teaching since 2000.  While Marly was first drawn to yoga for its many physiological benefits, is has become her passion owing to its healing and transformative effects on mind and spirit.  Her first yoga teaching certification was with Ganga White and Tracey Rich, founders of the White Lotus Foundation.  Marly is certified by Tias Little, founder of Prajna Yoga, and has assisted him at the Yoga Journal Conference and other workshops.  She studied yoga therapy and the Yoga Sutras with TKV Desikachar.  Marly is currently training under the guidance of Kofi Busia.  In addition to her yoga studies, she also has trained extensively in bio-energetic healing.

Marly’s classes encourage conscious awareness, skillful alignment, a strong and stable core, and fluid movement. Her classes have a depth and completeness that consistently offer students both challenge and nourishment. Her style is attentive, well-informed, spontaneous, and playful.  She believes that the true force behind yoga lies in its power to connect us with the deepest parts of ourselves. It is one of the most hopeful methods for becoming mindful of our strengths as well as our deep-held patterns of conditioning, enabling us to appreciate our own lives and the lives of all others.

Marly teaches workshops and retreats locally and internationally. She provides private yoga instruction and bio-energetic healing sessions. She is an Ambassador to Lululemon Athletica, offering classes to the Burlingame and San Mateo communities.  From its inception, Marly has been a healer for Stanford School of Medicine’s Healing Partners program.
