Introducing New Devi Instructor: Doron Hanoch
Vinyasa II-III, 9:15-10:45am, Mondays and Wednesdays
In his Vinyasa class, Doron teaches Blissful Yoga – the practice of uniting body and mind to create an expansive, interconnected state of being. Vinyasa as Blissful Yoga is a tool for cultivating awareness, compassion, strength and sensitivity, leading to self-realization. Intended to bring lasting joy, this development starts on the mat and flows to all other parts of one's life.
Doron's practice moves both linearly and in all directions. Movements are done with precise body alignment. Once alignment is achieved, the mind drops, and a flow of breath brings students into a meditative state.
This practice draws its inspiration from Patanjali’s Yoga sutras, Krishnamacharya’s asanas, Patabhi Jois’s self-practice, Iyengar’s dedication to alignment and Desikachar’s understanding of individual uniqueness. Zen principles also infuse every breath
The level II-III Class is suited for students that have some understanding of their bodies. The class flows with a variety of poses, modifications are always offered, and hands on adjustments are used to teach proper alignment and deepen the practice. The class is a safe environment, protecting the body from injuries, and a place where body and mind can release, relax and energize.
About the Instructor: Now a 550-hour Certified Yoga Teacher (RYI), Doron was introduced to yoga and meditation in 1992 while traveling and studying in the Far East. Since then, Doron has returned to India many times to deepen his spiritual and asana practices, studying under Pattabhi Jois and his family, including Sharath and Saraswati. He has also studied with teachers such as Richard Freeman, Rolf and Marci, Tim Miller, Adarsh and Heleen Williams, Amy Santos, Gouda Hedwig, Shashadri and Mark Stephens.

Doron teaches yoga workshops at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur and at various venues around the Bay Area while also providing private lessons.
Doron's teachings are based on practical, non-dogmatic tradition. He opens his meditative practices with grace and teaches breath-synchronized movements that flow from one to another. As a trained chef, a certified nutrition consultant (AADP registered) and an artist, Doron combines all his skills to provide a holistic experience.
