Yoga Fundamentals for Beginners - with Mercedes Delaney and Louis Jackson
Thursdays, 7:45-9:00pm
 This is a class designed to establish a solid foundation for beginners. Content of the classes will differ each week, and we will explore the most basic aspects of the yoga practice, including the breath (pranayama), standing and seated poses (asana), meditation and relaxation. This class will be taught on alternating weeks by Louis Jackson and Mercedes Delaney and will introduce students to the varied teachings of the yoga lineage.
Students are advised to inform instructors before class begins of any specific limitations or injuries. These classes will develop the beginning student’s awareness of how to safely align and move the body for basic postures, how to use the breath to release and relax tension, and how to honor the body exactly as it is.
